Ma Bonny Lad




Traditional Northumbrian song, on the traditional sad subject of losing a young man who has gone away to war, by The Onion House Band, with scenes around Holy Island. The 'coffin of St. Cuthbert' you see near the end is of course not the original.

  2. Many of the non-Orthodox churches in the UK have icons-- they seem to have become trendy for some reason.

    I've collected a lot more interesting items related to Saint Cuthbert, Holy Island, the Farnes and Northumbria, so there will still be many posts to come on this blog!
